Time is running out

If your business has ISO 27001:2013, then this is for you!

Time is running out if you currently have the ISO 27001:2013 version because your certification will expire in 2025 if you do not transition to the new ISO 27001:2022 standard.  Your certification body or even your consultant (if you use one) will be able to give you the exact date but as a guide, it is around September/October 2025.

Please don’t leave it too late to transition your ISO 27001 information security management system.

This time next year, it will be too late to do anything.

What you do need to consider if you decide to leave it too late to take action.

  • Loss of certification: You will no longer hold an active ISO 27001 certification, which could impact trust, client relationships and having a competitive advantage.
  • Non-compliance: You may no longer comply with certain legal, contractual or even regulatory requirements.
  • Operational disruptions: Contracts with clients that require certification could be at risk, potentially leading to the loss of business or delays in agreement.
  • Increased costs: Re-certification will be required from scratch, which could be more expensive compared to the standard transition process.
  • Reputation damage: The lapse in certification may create a perception of poor management of information security, affecting the business’ reputation and credibility.

It’s pretty straightforward to transition to the new standard.  Speak to your certification body and get a date booked for the transition audit.

Update your ISO system with the new requirements before the deadline date and you have nothing to worry about.

If you still feel unsure what to do, we have taken lots of our clients through the process, so we are happy to share our experiences.
