Of course, it is! You might be thinking that as a consultancy company that we would obviously say that because our livelihood depends upon it but you’d be wrong. I am going to provide you with clear reasons why getting ISO 9001 is worth it.
Some years ago we (Synergos Consultancy) took the strategic decision to become ISO 9001 certified. We do this for a living, yet we had not taken the right steps to show that it was worth doing. There are a number of reasons why ISO 9001 is worthwhile, and they range depending upon who you speak to.
For us, it was all about improving credibility with our clients. We wanted to demonstrate that we could achieve this prestigious certification and importantly retain it, year on year.
Was it worth it?
I’ll be honest and say firstly that it was a nerve-racking experience. As a business we have an outstanding track record, producing first time successful results for our clients to gain their ISO 9001 certification and many others, so that has never been a worry.
However, being on the ‘firing line’ ourselves was just a different ‘kettle of fish’, if you know what I mean. We were being audited, we were being judged, well maybe that is a bit dramatic but we were being audited to ensure we ran a compliant ISO 9001 system and if we couldn’t get it right then how on earth would that look to the outside world.
I’m pleased to say that it was a walk in the park.
