Since the Cyber Essentials certification scheme was launched seven years ago, the environment in which we all work has evolved tremendously, but the cost associated with the scheme has not changed.
To reflect the more complicated nature of assessments for larger organisations, Cyber Essentials will implement a new tiered pricing structure beginning January 24, 2022.
While micro firms and organisations will continue to pay the current £300 assessment fee, small, medium, and large businesses will pay a somewhat higher fee, based on a sliding scale that tries to better represent the complexity of assessing larger businesses. All assessments are currently priced at £300. The longer it takes to review and provide feedback on the assessment, the larger and more complicated the organisation is.
The table below depicts the new structure, which uses the internationally recognised definition for micro, small, medium, and large businesses:
| Organisation Size | Cost (Excluding VAT) |
|---|---|
| Micro organisations (0-9 employees) | £300 |
| Small organisations (10-49 employees) | £400 |
| Medium organisations (50-249 employees) | £450 |
| Large organisations (250+ employees) | £500 |
