We are still here to help you!

I hope you are keeping well. Over the last few months, I have learnt one of the most important lessons in business – that is to adapt to the times.

Like many businesses in the UK, the first lockdown and the imminent second lockdown, due to the coronavirus pandemic, has brought very worrying times to the office and our team. If there is one positive thing to take from the whole situation, it was how it ‘forced’ us to take a forensic look at our services and how we offer them.

We have always operated on the premise that establishing relationships and connections were essential – and we aren’t wrong but traditionally, we created these connections by meeting clients, being shown around their business and meeting the staff.

The need for social distancing to halt the spread of this nasty, undiscriminating disease means that we can no longer do that… for the foreseeable future at least.

That means finding new ways to ‘meet’. Of course, it’s not just about getting to know the client well, but helping them to succeed in their latest ISO certification adventure, work with them on health and safety and maintaining compliance with internal audits.

With social distancing being the norm, we have switched how we do things and the good news is, it is working! Feedback from clients suggests they have found that our support and delivery via platforms such as Microsoft Teams and Zoom is just as successful and helpful as when we are at the workplace ‘in the flesh’.

For us, this is great news and with several successful audits completed, we are confident that this is a step in the right direction.

Over the last few months, as a business, we have definitely become more flexible around working from home, now that we know it works so well and how efficient we all still are. We have conducted our own back to work health and safety audit, which has allowed us to safely return to the office. We all seem to prefer being in the office but knowing that the option for anyone to work from home is available when we need it is great for the team and future employees.
