Jenny Kilburn on the spot

Jenny was featured in the Yorkshire Post with the below interview. Have a read to find out more about our Managing Director, Jenny Kilburn, here!

What was your first job?

Washing hair and assisting at the local hairdresser.  I worked a Friday night and all day Saturday and would spend all my wages on sweets.

If you weren’t in your current position, what would you be doing?

I’d be a wedding planner.  I love weddings and always thought I’d be good at this.

What was your worst mistake?

I think looking back, it would be not studying harder at school.

What’s your ideal day away from the office?

Going for an early morning walk, having a nice lunch and then some shopping.

Name one person you would like to have dinner with and why?

My husband Steve because he is an amazing person!

What was your best subject at school?

Dance class. What is there not to like about dancing?  I still enjoy it now, as does my daughter and I am still very involved with dance schools.

What are your hobbies?

Walking and theatre trips.  In 2019, I went 24 times. Sadly I won’t be able to top that this year!

What would you do if you won the lottery?

Apart from the obvious of looking after my family, I’d share the rest with those who supported me when I first started out in business.  I’ll never forget their kindness and support and it would be lovely to repay them in some way.

What’s your favourite item of clothing?

My dresses, I know this isn’t just one item but I simply love dresses.

What’s your favourite time of day?

First thing on a morning when I go out for a walk.

What’s the best thing about Yorkshire?

The countryside and the people in general.  We really are so friendly.

What would be your epitaph?

Here lies a woman who enjoyed life ?
