Have you ever stopped to think what really makes us any different from the next business?
Imagine for a moment that you were recruiting and you had two identical candidates in front of you with the same amount of experience, having worked in the same industries. Both candidates would be perfect for your business but you can only employ one.
What would you do?
Well, I’m sure you would look for some other point that would make one applicant stand out from the other.
One obvious thing to consider is qualifications and education. So now you see one candidate has a degree and one doesn’t.
Would that make a difference? Of course it would.
Now think about your own business when pitching for a contract. You are working your way through a tender when you are asked the question,
‘‘If you have not achieved ISO 9001, please confirm if your company operates processes which are in compliance with ISO 9001 and how you can demonstrate this.’
Is this the point where you realise you are already out of the running?
You want to draft a compelling proposal that will stand out from other applications, but it’s already made challenging because you don’t have a compliant quality management system. Proof that you are maintaining a quality-led philosophy is why ISO 9001 is mentioned within tenders.
Can you imagine getting to the starting line and having a false start because you didn’t’ have the right accreditation to go any further?
Don’t be the company that isn’t chosen because you cannot demonstrate continuous improvements in both quality and efficiency. You are always searching for new customers and to win them you need to stand out from the crowd. Think about how you can differentiate yourself so they will always choose you.
Have a great week!
