Internet Of Things (IOT) such as thermostats or games consoles operating on the network are becoming higher risk assets to a business or home.

IOT is at the forefront of business risk and security risks around cyber security. Devices are often added to a network with no inherent risk being assigned to them, however these can often be hijacked and used for illicit means. Looking at how to handle these risks to a business is something that needs to be observed for all businesses.

Management

Management of devices is important on a network and this should be observed by the IT team however some devices may be put on. Some devices will be added to the main network without precautions there is often a well made case to put unnecessary devices on a secluded network.

Scanning

Network scanning software is something that can be used this allows consistent updating and scanning of devices on the system. This is useful as it allows consistent real time information to be given and tracked this means any events or unusual access/operations are recorded.
